Emil's Dream Bathhouse
"As a child in the old city of Acre, I used to go with my father to the local bathhouse once a week," says Emil Gattas, his eyes shining. "When the city's residents started installing solar heaters in homes, there was no longer a need for a hammam, and the two that operated in the city closed in 1970. But I did not forget them. Everywhere I went in the world I looked for the authentic Turkish bath, and I fantasized about opening one of my own".
